                         Ricky P. Mac, M.D., F.A.C.E.          




 
Dr. Mac grew up in Los Angeles, CA.  He completed his undergraduate studies at UCI with a double major in Biological Science and Mechanical Engineering.  After obtaining his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY, he finished residency in internal medicine at St. Mary Medical Center followed by a year as Chief Resident of the residency program.  Dr. Mac then pursued additional specialty training and completed an Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, & Molecular Medicine fellowship at Charles R. Drew School of Medicine.  

Dr. Mac has a special interest in male hypogonadism and his research experience in male testosterone deficiency has culminated in several publications in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism and Journal of Andrology.  In addition, he has co-authored a book chapter on the topic of endocrine problems in the critically ill patient.  Before joining this group, Dr. Mac was in private practice in Long Beach, CA, with an emphasis on treating inpatient endocrine problems and critically ill patients with endocrine issues.  

Academically, he holds the title of Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and continues to teach and give lectures to internal medicine residents.  Furthermore, he has been honored by the Consumers' Research Council of America with a listing as one of "America's Top Physicians."  (www.consumersresearchcncl.org).  Dr. Mac is able to speak Cantonese, Vietnamese, and medical Spanish.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball, tennis, and golfing.
